Vintage Ram Rods Car Club pics

I got these pictures from Len Cottrell a member of the Ram Rods CC since 1964. They are from some of their shows back in the early 1960's at the National Guard Armory in Washington DC. Their car show eventually went on to become the World Of Wheels Show in DC one of the top National Shows in the country.

They had a garage in the Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg for quite a while, but it now sits empty. I do not know the current status of the club, but would love to hear form anybody that does.

I know the car kulture scene was huge here in the local area in the 1960's and hope that others who were living the life of fast hot rods and kool kustoms of the time would like to share their pics and stories. Chevy Biscaynes



More goodness from the Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy car show. These fine examples of Chevy's Biscayne were on display at the show. I have had a soft spot for this model ever since I had the pleasure of getting up close and personal with Tom's 1960 for the feature car article in Issue 8 of GBM.

Vintage Funeral Cars at The Laurel Lions Club Car Show

George's 1950 Packard Flower Car. There is something about a car with a truck rear that just speaks to my soul. I spent the most time just gawking at this car, what a sight.

On Sat. Sept 17th the Laurel Lions club hosted their annual Endless Summer Car Bike & Truck Show at the Laurel Municipal Center. There was a great turn-out despite the  on and off rain showers. While there was  a packed field the cars that caught my eye was the collection of funeral cars brought out for the show and owned by Jay Donaldson. Also at the show was my personal favorite, George Hamlin's 1950 Packard Flower Car. The ornate carvings on the cars along with the shear size of these vehicles were attention grabbers.
